Venezüella’daki vaziyetin, Amerika’nın Venezüella’ya uyguladığı ambargodan sonraki süreç kadar dahi iyi olmadığını düşünüyorum. Ambargo yok; ama Venezüella Lâtin Amerika’daki çoğu ülkeden daha az petrol üretiyor. Chavez iktidara gelmeden önce dünyanın en büyük petrol ihracatçısıydı. Şimdi günde bir milyon varil üretebiliyorlar. ABD ambargoyu kaldırdı, çünkü petrole ihtiyaçları vardı; ama Venezüella’da tam bir karmaşa var ve suikasttan sonra bana da karşılar. Suikast derken, Chavez suikasta uğradı, doğal bir ölüm değildi, öldürüldü.

Mevcut hükümet neden bana karşı bilmiyorum, anlayamıyorum. Bu yeni büyükelçi dışişleri bakanının oğlu, onu henüz görmedim; ama ümid ediyorum gelecek. Isabelle Coutant Peyre onu görmeye gitti ve onunla konuştu. Pek Fransızca konuşamıyor, İspanyolca biliyor. Isabelle benim vaziyetimi anlattı. Ümid edelim de yeni yılda elçilikten bir ziyaret olsun. Venezüella’ya dönüşüm hakkında görüşleri soruldu. Öyle görünüyor ki, Fransa’dan Venezüella’ya birkaç kez ulaştılar ve herhangi bir cevap alamadılar. Sadece basitçe “Evet onu Venezüella’ya geri istiyoruz.” diyorlar. Ben Venezüella vatandaşıyım, Venezüella’ya dönmek istiyorum. Vatandaşlık haklarımı istiyorum. Her neyse, benim durumum her zaman çok özeldi ve Chavez’in öldürülmesinden sonra işler benim için iyi gitmiyor. Bazı iyi avukatlarım var; ama çok azı iyi (Carlos gülüyor) ve ne olacağını bilmiyorum. Ama görünen o ki, işler daha da kötüye gidecek.

Türk hükümetinin ilginç bir tutumu var. Başkan Maduro’ya Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan’ın özgürlüğümü sorduğunu biliyorum. Türkiye Cumhurbaşkanı neden benim özgürlüğümü istedi? Ümid ediyorum Türkiye’de yeniden barış olur ve herkes bir hükümette bir araya gelir. Yabancı ajan olmayan tüm iyi Türklerin ve Kürtler de dahil olmak üzere herkesin temsil edildiği dayanışmacı bir hükümet. Ne olacağını bilmiyoruz. Ama her şey daha kötüye gidebilir, umarım daha iyi olur. Çünkü Türkiye’nin Orta Doğu’daki krizle ilgili tutumu da çok ilginç. Türkiye hükümetinin İsrail ile iyi bir ilişkisi var, resmî olarak uzun süredir ilişkileri var; ama pratikte öyle değiller, anti-Siyonistler. Venezüella hükümeti de anti-Siyonist bir pozisyona sahip. Ama aynı zamanda Başkan Maduro’nun babası bir Yahudi, ama iyi bir adamdı, sol görüşlüydü ve bir işçiydi. İşçiler için gösteriler düzenliyordu. Ancak gerçek şu ki ben buradayım. Aldığım haberlere göre Fransızlar beni serbest bırakmak istiyor; ama Venezüella hiçbir şey yapmıyor.

Sanırım hükümetin ilk düşmanı aslında Komünist Parti. Komünist Parti Chavez’in destekçisiydi ve şimdi resmî olarak hükümetin baş düşmanı oldular. Bu çok garip. Ben eski bir komünistim. Ne olacağını bilmiyoruz ama umarım Venezüella’ya gidip Türk arkadaşlarımı kabul edebilirim.

I think that situation in Venezuela is not as well as after the Americans embargo against Venezuela. There is no embargo, but Venezuela produces less petrol than most of the countries in Latin America. Before Chavez took power it was the biggest exporter of petrol in the world. It was like this. Now it’s they’ve done a million barrels a day. Anyway the United States stopped embargo because they needed petrol. But it’s a complete mess in Venezuela and they are against me after the assassination. Chavez was assassinated he didn’t die for natural death, he was killed.

The actual government I don’t know why they are against me, I can’t understand. This new ambassador is the son of the foreign minister. I haven’t seen him yet. I haven’t seen him for several months. I hope he will come. Isabelle Coutant Peyre went to see him and talked to him. The man doesn’t speak French very much but he speaks Spanish. She was talking about my situation. Let’s hope in the new year that we have some visit from the embassy. Venezuela will be asked for my return. Because it seems that from France they are contacting Venezuela several times and they don’t get any answer. They just simply say yes we want him back in Venezuela. I am a Venezuelan citizen, I want to turn Venezuela. I want the right of nationality. Anyway my situation always been very special and the assassination of Chavez things are not going good for me. I have some good lawyers very little good and I don’t know what will happen. But things will get worse.

Turkish government has an interesting position. I know that President Maduro was asked for my freedom by the President Erdogan. President of Turkiye asked why for my freedom? I hope that Turkiye there will be peace again. And everybody will be together in a government. Solidary government where all good Turks who are not foreign agents, are represented everybody including the Kurds. We don’t know what will happen. But things can get worse, I hope it will get better. Because very interesting way Turkiye also is behaving regarding the crisis in the Middle East. The government of Turkiye has a good relation with Israel, they have relations for a long time formally but in practice they aren’t, they are anti-Zionist. Venezuelan government have anti-Zionist position. But at the same time the father of the President Maduro was a Jew. But he was a good man, lef-wing and a worker. He was organizing the indicates for workers. But the fact is that I am here. The news I have is that Frenches ask release me but Venezuela did nothing.

I guess the first enemy of the government is in fact the Communist Party. The Communist Party was a supporter of Chavez and now officially they are the main enemy of the government. That is very strange. I am an old communist. We do not know what will happen but I hope I will be able to go to Venezuela to receive my Turkish friends.
